Established in 2007, the team at DJ's Growers are at the forefront of food, fruit and wine production. With seven agronomists DJ's are involved in all aspects of farming, from practical knowledge to technical theory.
The DJ’s Internship Programme is paid learning opportunity aimed at attracting talented agronomists who are strongly motivated to gain experience in horticulture and viticulture.
We run our programme through September to February each year. We look for candidates who can commit to 1-3 days per week.
Ideally suited to students enrolled in an under-graduate or graduate degree, or recent graduates.

Derek has is own vineyard and supplies fruit to his family wine label: Camwell Wines.
James has a wide experience in technical vineyard agronomy. He is regarded as one of the wine communities strategic thinkers.
He is involved with many wine community programmes including, Cropwatch, Sustainable Wine Growing Australia and McLaren Vale's Districts project linking geology and winemaking.
James provides consultancy services for grape growers & wineries.
He is also the owner (together with his wife) of Lazy Ballerina a leading wine tourism business near Kuitpo Forest. Through this he has developed wide ranging skills in product marketing and small business management.

Head of technical services. Matthew's Family has Farmed the Fleurieu and Adelaide Hills since the 1830’s with Sheep, Dairy, Broadacre farming - he has had a strong and keen interest in agriculture since childhood.
He is now one of Australia's most experienced horticultural agronomists.
His career has seen him help farmers in diverse locations and fields. He has worked as a Pasture/Dairy Agronomist on the Fleurieu (1998-2000) with IAMA, as a Viticultural Agronomist in McLaren Vale & Adelaide Hills (2000-present), Langhorne Creek (2000-02, 2006-07 -present), Coonawarra, Padthaway, Wrattonbully (2002-06) and has an extensive generally farming knowledge.
He has been involved in technical services, including, virus testing, soil testing and nutrition advice for 15 years and high level pest and disease monitoring and diagnosis through McLaren Vale's & Langhorne Creek's CropWatch services.
Sam specialises in Strawberry production where he is regarded as one of the foremost promoters of IPM insect control and fertiliser application. He takes these skills and across agronomy services in Viticulture, Olive and Almond tree production, and Mushroom and Vegetable production.
His career has seen him help farmers in diverse locations and fields.
He has been involved in technical services, like soil testing and nutrition advice for 15 years. He is the head of development for DJ's fertiliser products and applications.
David is fits the model of a modern agronomist, he has the balance of practical farming and technical theory. He grew up on a farm and was involved in the day to day operations for as long as he can remember. Later in life David engaged with the science of farming and developed his agronomy skills.
His farming consultancy specialises in farms growing row crops, potato and onions and healthy pastures for meat and diary livestock.
David is active in researching the use of drones for aerial mapping in row crops.
Caleb grew up on his family's farm in the Northern territory where the main crops were watermelons, pumpkins and onions. He loved working on the farm as much as he could growing up and was involved in the daily operations.
He made the move to SA to attend Westminster boarding school for the last three years of schooling as they had a great agricultural program. He then completed his degree at The University of Adelaide.
The aspects of farming that he has a real interest in are growing vegetables, Integrated pest management, R&D and soil health.
Joe is an innovative thinker and has been developing numerous new ideas for farmers of all types since completing his post graduate degree in viticulture from the University of Adelaide.
Joe is active in researching the use of drones for aerial mapping for vineyards. Joe engineers our soil moisture monitoring service and is thus your go to specialist in irrigation.
Joe's extended family are cherry growers, grapegrowers and winemakers.
